Procedure text is a text that is designed to describe how something is achieved
through a sequence of actions or steps. It explains how people perform
different processes in a sequence of steps. This text uses simple present
tense, often imperative sentences. It also uses the temporal conjunction such
as first, second, then, next, finally, etc.
The generic structures of procedure text are :
1. Goal : Title of
the text (especially for a recipe)
2. Materials : Optional, not for all procedural texts
3. Steps : a series steps oriented to achieving
the Goal

How to Make Tomato Soup
- 4 large tomatoes

Here are the steps to make a
bowl of tomato soup:
- Cut tomatoes, onions, and garlic into
small pieces.
- Fry them in a pan with butter for five
minutes.

- Heat until the water boils.
- Turn down the heat and cover with lid.
Cook gently for one hour.
